Legion of Broom Stays Golden, Showers C.O.R.O.

Public urination key in LoB's third straight victory

Things weren't looking good for an undefeated Legion of Broom squad in Wednesday night's matchup against Team C.O.R.O. After C.O.R.O sent home a five-hole within the games initial moments, the co-league leaders were scratching their heads on what could be done.

"I'll be right back," an unidentified LoB player was overheard saying. After this short break, it was all Legion of Broom.

The brew crew tallied four unanswered goals in a 4-1 league victory, staying atop the Wednesday standings and priming themselves for a solid tournament placement, which will be held on Sunday March 3rd. Tony Taylor recorded three goals and Riley Hearst one in the team's big win.

Team captain Bob Wippler was pleased with his legion's response to the early adversity. "What an idiot. Five hole?" It is uncertain if Wippler will make any substantial moves before the trade deadline.

"We knew it would be a battle," team captain Laura Cobb said of her team's courtroom antics earlier in the day. "We knew tonight's game would be a battle too. We're excited to have [2018 honorable-mention forward Zach] Boettner back in the lineup. We've just got to get him back in shape. I'm optimistic for next week['s 7:30pm matchup against Swifter Sweepers] and the tournament."

The Legion will face off against the only remaining undefeated Wednesday league team next week in the regular season finale. Legion of Broom hosts the Vilandre Brew Balls amid the Coolerama Downtown festival. Make plans to attend.
